Why Cadar monolithic floors?

Not just a floor — the hydraulic heart of the filter.

The Cadar monolithic concrete filter floor system is a cast in-situ solution that integrates with the surrounding civil structure. Unlike suspended filter floor systems, the monolithic approach helps reduce long-term risks associated with degradation, movement or structural failure.

The system is lightweight during installation, yet extremely strong once completed. It is designed to provide accurate air and water distribution through the filter bed, supporting effective backwashing, media stability and long-term filtration performance.

Absorb supports New Zealand projects with Cadar filter floor product supply, practical project guidance, documentation and interface support across media, nozzles and filter refurbishment works.

Under the floor

Where distribution performance is created.

These underfloor views show the structural support zone beneath a monolithic filter floor — the area where air and water distribution, support columns and nozzle positioning all need to work together.

Integrated underfloor structure

Support columns, panel layout and underfloor access are all part of the total filter floor design.

Retrofit option

Flat Panel System

The flat panel system is ideal for retrofit applications and restricted head situations where available height is limited.

  • Suitable for refurbishment and retrofit projects
  • Useful where filter headroom is restricted
  • Lightweight panels support installation accuracy
  • Designed for durable long-term performance

Corrugated Panel System

The corrugated panel system is ideal for new construction and large filter areas where strength, durability and hydraulic performance are key priorities.

  • Well suited to new filter construction
  • Strong option for larger filter areas
  • Designed for integrated cast in-situ construction
  • Supports reliable air and water distribution

Monolithic strength

Cast in-situ construction creates a robust floor system that becomes part of the surrounding civil structure.

Reduced refurbishment risk

The system helps avoid some of the degradation and failure risks associated with traditional suspended floor systems.

Accurate distribution

Designed to support consistent air and water distribution across the filter floor and media bed.

Installation precision

Lightweight components assist practical site handling and accurate installation.

How we support projects

Simple pathway from enquiry to project planning.

Whether it is a new treatment plant, a filter refurbishment or a restricted retrofit, we can help guide the product conversation early.

1

Send project details

Share drawings, filter dimensions, existing floor type, media specification and any known hydraulic requirements.

2

Review floor options

We help identify whether a flat panel or corrugated panel system is likely to suit the application.

3

Coordinate technical inputs

Product information, installation considerations and interface details can be reviewed with the project team.

4

Supply and support

Absorb supports supply, documentation and practical project guidance for New Zealand installations.
